Canon Cameras and the Contribution They Made

By

Photography has been a part of everyday family life and memories since it was invented in the late 19th Century. Over the course of the mid to late 20th Century, Canon has been a pioneer in cameras for all family needs. In fact, Canon cameras have been well known in the United States, and many Americans had one at one time or another. The first Canon camera was the 120 mm camera and was a vertical box with two lenses: the lens in front of the shutter, and the lens for the view finder. The two lenses were focused simultaneously with a gear system that caused the dials on both lenses to turn at the same time.

In the 1960s and 1970s, the 35 mm SLR camera came out and Canon has a wide variety of those cameras available today.  The great thing about the 35 mm SLR at the time is that it eliminated the need for a viewfinder and allowed for a more accurate focusing for the image.   The SLR works by having a mirror in front of the shutter and you see exactly what the photo will look like since you are looking directly through the lens.  This also allows you to focus correctly.

Now we’re in the digital age and film and those smelly developers are a thing of the past.   You can also get a great Canon SLR digital camera.  This is a great camera for those of you who are photography enthusiasts and professionals.

Suppose you just want a camera for the typical holiday snaps.  Well, Canon can accommodate you for that also.  Canon also has a wide variety of point and shoot cameras.   Some of the best Canon point and shoot cameras include a wide variety of compact cameras, such as the Canon Powershots G12 and S95 for those enthusiasts who want a quality compact camera that is small enough to keep stowed away in either a travel bag or in a large coat pocket.   Other great compact cameras that Canon offers include the Canon SX210 IS.  This is a great camera that you can tote in your purse or in your pocket for that moment when you want the camera with you.

So In Conclusion...

Canon has a great variety of digital SLR cameras that allow you to interchange the lenses for different photo affects. Some of these are under the Canon EOS product line. The best kinds are those where you can actually remove the lens and replace it with another for special photos. Use a powerful telephoto lens for shooting animals and birds in the wild. Use a wide angle for scenes in a field or family portraits. You can also get specialty fisheye lenses to give that warped affect in your photo. Some Canon EOS cameras are also good point and shoot cameras, which have automated lenses that can go from wide angle to telephoto. So, really, something for everyone can be found among the wide selection of canon cameras.
